honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just five days after your 21st birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Rememebred

I was Tactical office for Officer Candidate Michael Hourigan in class OC-61. Recently I went to an OCS reunion and decided to track candidates from my class and those that I was their TAC. I was saddened to find Lt Hourigan among those names on the memorial. I remember him well from OCS and know he was prepared to do his job in Vietnam and gave the ultimate sacrifice for it. I honor him on the Memorial Day. May God continue to bless him and his family. Les Witmer, LTC, USAR, ret.

Michael P Hourigan

I didn't know Patrick, I came across this site today on FB.
But I really want to acknowledge his life--and his death, as we were both born in Santa Rosa, California---plus the fact that Michael died in Long An --on my 6th birthday (6/1/68).
RIP Michael, thank you for your service, and sacrifice.

Not forgotten...

I served with Michael in OCS. We spent a great deal of time learning that we could be more than we thought. He and I had something in common since we were both from California. I from Santa Barbara and he from the more sophisticated wine country. I am proud to have called him a friend.
