I did not know larry, but how it sounds he must of been a great guy. I am a high chool student doing vietnam research, and I stumbled past larry's page. I would have liked to have met him. I too am a sarasota, Florida cracker. He will be remembered, even by people who haven't had the privilege of meeting him.

A brother I wish I could have met.

I sure wish I knew what to say, it's kind of hard to put into words. I was only 3 yrs old when LB was killed, but I feel close to him anyway . From the stories I hear he touched alot of people in his short life and was a great man and I am proud to have the same name as such a fine young man, GOD BLESS HIM AND MAYBE WE WILL MEET ONE DAY.

"LB"

In high school and when hanging around, we just called him "LB." He was an easy going guy, never bothered anyone, didn't cause problems in or out of school. LB liked to hunt and fish, enjoyed hanging around with his buddies, just being himself. I was in Vietnam when I received from a brother back home that LB had been killed in the Ia Drang Valley as I recall. I was stunned and saddened that the war had claimed another soldier that probably didn't want to be there.
