Remembering An American Hero
Dear LCPL Michael Wayne Hopkins, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Respected friend
We all remember your quiet strength, true humility and kind, gentle nature; how much you loved your God, parents, family, finacee, and country.
We always trusted you to cover our backs in a firefight, and always knew you could be counted on for anything! You were the best of the best, my friend, and one of the finest men I have ever known! It was an honor and a privilege to serve with you. You will be eternally missed.
May God bless you abundantly with all those things for which you may stand in need, wherever you are, and wherever you may be positioned by His deft hand.
With the greatest of fraternal love.
Infinitely, Eternally,
Your friend,
"Doc"
