THE WALL OF FACES

I have thought about my cousin Leonard many times over the years. His death made Vietnam real to me. He was a little older than me, and I looked up to him. My earliest memory of Leonard was at some relative’s funeral—you showed us younger kids you could crank a car, then you father heard it and came running—and he was not happy! Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Dear PFC Leonard Holmes, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Today is Independence Day, and there is no better time to honor you. Please watch over the USA, it still needs your strength. Rest in peace with the angels.

This is in remembrance of Leonard Holmes. He and my brother,Eddie Parton, were best friends, and went into the Marines together. I think about him a lot. Leonard, thank you for your service!!!!
