Dear, John a great soldier,

Having been raised in the shadows of the Wallowa Mountains 11 miles from Richland I have heard many wonderful things about you. Both of your parents were friends of mine and it was an honor knowing your family. As I drive through Richland on my way home to Halfway and pass by the monument that pays homage to the sacrifice you made in Vietnam, it brings back memories of your family. Thank you and your family for all that they gave our country in order to ensure that places like Halfway and Richland remain "the land of the free and the home of the brave."
