Remembering Chad

I remember speaking to Chad the last day of High School; all saying our good by before going off to college. We were classmates at Coffee High School in Florence, Alabama. Not best friends but Chad was a mature and super nice guy all through high school.
I think of him each memorial day. There is a statue of Chad at the University of North Alabama in uniform. I hope the photo goes through.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT Chadwick Mc Fall Barber, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Always in our Hearts

I was 11 when I last saw you. You made such an impression on my family and myself. We still remember the kindness you showed to all of us. Now we are in our fiftys and you still are 'Always in our Hearts'

I remember him well

Chad was my student battalion commander at Florence State in 1967. I think of him frequently when I remember those who served but did not come hhome.
