Captain William Ray Hill was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action. He served as a Rotary Wing Aviation Unit Commander and was assigned to B TRP, 1ST SQDN, 9TH CAVALRY, 1ST CAV DIV.
