Thank you from Spec 4 William C. Buetow Junior.

Hi, Arthur,

My name is David Buetow. I am on the son of William Buetow who was in your command and whose name appears on a Bowie Knife that he and the people in your command gave to you before you went to Vietnam. My father speaks and has spoken always very highly of you so this weekend we did something special. We did a Crossfit Benefit called "Murph For Miller" but I did it with your name on my arm. You see, Captain, my father rather owes his life to you. So, it was the least that I, who would not be in existence but for that, could do. So with that, Captain, I salute and thank you. As does Spec 4 William C. Buetow, Junior, my father.

Yours truly,
David Buetow.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear Captain Arthur Robert Herndon, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
