Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT Robert Knapp Henderson Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

I REMEMBER

I was there. Remembered then, Remembered now. In some place we would never see again,in some jungle,on some plot of ground unknown but to a few, you gave all. Brother in arms.

Thankfulness

As I learn about the Vietnam War in school, I am required to learn of tragedies of this war. I am appreciative of the service militarymen give our country. This man is part of the reason I have freedom today. I am grateful that he paid the ultimate price so that my children, their children, and myself can have a quality condition of life. My life is different because of people like him.

Operation Embrace

Rob your former commanding officer never forgot your heroic deeds and in Sept 2006 was responsible for a much belated award of the Silver Star. Your family was presented the medal at the annual 11thACVVC convention in Kansas City.

Your memory lives on with not only your family, but with those Blackhorse Troopers with whom you served and led.

Allons!
