Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just seven days before your 24th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Pete I remember you as a childhood friend who lived down the road about a mile and could be reached on our old crank phones on the party line. You were a good, steady friend and I was very sad when your family told me you were a casualty of that crazy war.
