My Uncle

There isn't a day that goes by that I wish I could meet you. I hear so many stories and hearing NalĂ and dad mention how you were makes me proud. Sister and I help dad put your flag up every year. I'm told I have your eyes. Some day I will see you. Love you uncle.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Thomas Hayes, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

To my uncle..

I wish I had gotten to meet you yazh. I hear so many stories about you from my dad and I wonder what you were like. I think you may have been just like my him, a mix of serious and silly. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice and your selflessness. I hope I'm making you proud as you watch from up above.
