Final Mission of CAPT Frank H. Adams

CAPT Frank H. Adams was an Air Observer serving with Marine Observation Squadron 2 (VMO-2), Marine Aircraft Group 11 (MAG-11), at Marble Mountain Air Facility (MMAF), Da Nang, Quang Nam Province, RVN. On March 23, 1970, CAPT Adams suffered a fatal head wound after being struck by 12.7mm weapon while working as an Aerial Observer on a visual reconnaissance mission with CAPT B.C. 'Butch' Miller in an OV-10A Bronco light attack and observation aircraft. Adams had flown as an AO (Aerial Observer) with VMO-2 since 1966, and was very highly respected by many squadron pilots. His basic MOS was 0302 Infantry. He served both as a Company Commander on the ground and as the airborne eyes of the infantry from various aerial platforms during his time in Vietnam. He had flown AO missions in the UH-1E Huey helicopter, the O-1 Birddog and the OV-10A Bronco, primarily with VMO-2 (Marine Observation Squadron Two) out of MMAF. He was an infantry company's point man, airborne. [Taken from popasmoke.com]

Praying for you today.

Captain Adams - In honoring your sacrifice and in praying for your family and friends, I am posting part of a Prayer for Veterans (the author is unknown): "Almighty God, in every age, You call certain persons to defend the human family from oppression, tyranny and evil. Today we revere all our veterans: those who rest in honored glory, those who still suffer from the wounds of war.... O God, thank You for the selfless sacrifice of these veterans and of their families. Help us to remember them, to pray for them, and to care for them. Please bring all our departed veterans into Your Kingdom, and console their families with Your unfailing love. Please heal our wounded veterans through the power of Your Holy Spirit.... Through Christ our Lord, Amen."
