Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. We should be forever thankful for the sacrifices of you and so many others to ensure the freedoms we so often take for granted.

Captain Joseph Richard Harris, Served with F Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade (Separate), 1st Cavalry Division, United States Army Vietnam.

This is Larry Jackson, a Fellow Cavalry Trooper Honoring the memory of Capt Harris, 48 years after we were shot down on April 8th 1972. I was his Door Gunner that day so many years ago. It sometimes seems like it was only yesterday as I run it over and over in my mind and in my Nightmares.
Rest easy Captain, you have earned it. We Honor your Memory and your Sacrifice and the Sacrifice of all of our Service Men and Women who have Fallen in Service to this Great Country we Live in. We Salute You Sir.

Went to elementary and jr high school, remember your dads sawdust piles as we. Thank you for your sacrifice may your memory be eternal.

Well Capt. It's been 47 years since we took off on our last mission together. Sometimes I still feel guilty about you not making it Home and I did. I still think about you and that day we were shot down. On this day I Salute You my friend and Fellow 1st Cavalry Trooper. Rest Easy, You Earned It. Proud to have been your Door Gunner that day so long ago.
