Gone From This Earth But Not From Our Hearts.

The last time you have seen me I was as tall as your knee I remember when they came to our door I was at the young age of 4.
That was the saddest day in our families history But also our proudest day also because he saved the lives of 4 men in his platoon before he was KIA.
My Aunts and Uncles was honored to meat some of is closest friends from his platoon and have stayed in touch all of these years.
I would like to meet my Uncle Danny's Brothers In Arms and thank them personally and listen to their stories about my Uncle Danny.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Daniel Lee Harmon, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Honoring Danny and Freddy's Memory

I grew up on the island knowing the families of Danny, and Freddy Simeonoff when I was a child, and some of them when I became an adult. They are fine people who made a terrible sacrifice.
Years ago when my youngest son was a teenager I took him to DC, and we paid our respects at the memorial wall. I took a rubbing of Freddy's name, but I did not know at the time that Danny had been killed, or I would have thanked him for his service and honored him too. Indeed, I just found this information and wanted to evoke his name, and tell his family, and Freddy's, that they were loved and appreciated, and we recognize their heroism.
