We remember

I remember. Marty & Curt flew to Viet Nam together. I remember the phone call from Judy to tell me Marty had been killed and I left to be with her. RIP Marty & God bless Judy.

Valiant Service

I flew with Marty in D 3/5 Air Cavalry. He was a friend of mine and I still feel his loss after all these years. The mission for the Troop was a very difficult one and many of our finest were lost. Marty was with us serving his second tour of duty and I was fortunate to have him as my assistant. I saw the pictures of his daughters and I know how much he wanted to return to them and his wife. The Scout Platoon had experienced heavy losses and he returned to daily flying as the mission needed him back in the air. He was very aware of the risks but performed in that dangerous place and did so with silent valor. GOD welcomed him home in a flash with no pain.

Uncle Marty

Wish I would have gotten the chance to know you, uncle. Mom has talked about you my whole life. I have visited your name at the wall numerous times. I want you to know that my husband is adopting my son soon and they are allowing him to choose his new middle name. Out of all the names in the world he chose Martin, for you. He is joining the Air Force in a couple years and decided to take the name of the greatest war hero he never knew. I love you. I never knew you. But you are in my heart. Your niece, Jennifer
