Hero among Heros

It has been fifty years since November 1 1965. Bake what a great person you were and fought to the end. I think of you daily, trying to patch you up and carrying you back to the rear. we almost made it to the chopper. The Ia Drang was a terrible place to be. Throw some smoke when you hear I am on Fiddlers Green we need to talk.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Alton Eugene Baker, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Distant Family

I was just a little girl when you were taken from us, but I remember my grandmother talking about what a good Christian and wonderful nephew you were. Thank you for your sacrifice so that we could live free. Your cousin.
