A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Turk was my classmate at West Point. Graduating in 1962, joining the Signal Corps and arriving in VN as the record shows. Played 150# football at West Point and lettered. Great sense of humour, team player and a member of Cadet Company I-2.
Run to be with, proud to have known.

Some of my best memories are driving down to Florida on the weekends from Fort Gorden, Georgia in the Fall of 1962 with my roommate and pal Turk Griffith. We had some great experiences together. Turk was fun, fearless and always up for adventure. Volunteering to deploy early to Vietnam was quintessential Turk. Thank you Turk for your friendship, service, dedication and ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

The “Friends of Rocky Versace” remember one of Rocky’s fellow alumni from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point - a Plebe in Cadet Company I-2, USCC when Rocky was a Firstie in Co. K-2 and a brother Airborne-Ranger - First Lieutenant Thurston "Turk" Algee Griffith Jr., USMA Class of 1962, on what would’ve been his 81st birthday - 17 March 2021, St. Patrick's Day.
