My Dear Uncle

Although I was only two years old when you were taken from us, we were close. I still remember looking down in your casket thinking you were asleep. It was confusing for me and took a long time to understand what happened. I took a photo in uniform with Grandpa after I joined the National Guard. He was sure the picture was with you. I would never tell him differently. I still miss you and wonder what we would have shared. Eternal rest dear uncle.

Thank You

Dear PFC David Gregory,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Howard Clanton, Indianapolis, IN

I attended Shortridge High School with Howard Clanton. We had been friends throughout high school. Howard was a member of the ROTC and always took pride in wearing his ROTC uniform and looked very distinguished in his uniform. I was very upset when I found out he was killed in Viet Nam. He truly gave the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you Howard for your service to our country.

I went to Washington, D.C. with my granddaughter when she was in the fifth grade and I visited the Viet Nam Wall and looked up Howard Clanton on the wall.
