Paul Houston Gray
Paul, I was four months older than you. I was born and raised in Ames, Iowa. High School Class of 1966. We shared so much of America in the Fifties. In the summer of 1959, our family stopped in Sergeant Bluff on our way to Mt. Rushmore. I'd like to think that we crossed paths that day or at the Iowa State Fair, or maybe at the Boy's and Girl's Basketball tournaments at Vet's Auditorium in Des Moines. You served. I didn't. I was morally unfit to kill Viet Cong. Thank you for giving your "last full measure." May your memory be a blessing. May G-d have mercy on your soul.

honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Unsung
As a Vietnam Veteran and Historian I have to spent a lot more time on the Wall of Faces than I should. I thought now was as good a time as any to say that every man who carried the Pig (M60 machine gun) should have at least been awarded the Bronze Star with V/device, hell they gave out the Bronze Star just for showing up! Rest in peace brave young marine.
