Think of you every day, and what could have been.

You took my place that fateful day and to this day I am in awe of your bravery and outstanding leadership, Semper Fi Scotty. You were to my right within 3 feet, who the hell knows why things happen the way they do in war.

My fire team leader, never forgotten and a true hero.

I have had the tremendous honor of meeting your uncle and brother in your memory. They know what a hero you are and how much respect we had for your leadership of our fire team and of amazing heroism in fixing bayonets and attacking a very large NVA 324B contingent. You are missed to this day, Semper Fi.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
