Bobby i was 13 you were my cousin i will never forget you or your family one of the most tragic days of my life i was so proud of you fighting for are country i still morn for all the brothers and sisters we lost but you bobby are special to me i miss you and my aunts and uncles lost lots of family but that day i was really touched by your sacrifice thank you bobby i will never forget you your cousin mike

Dear Sgt Robert Goselin,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I've walked through the park bearing your name. In my heart I know you're with me. .

I served with Bob in the same squad in Vietnam. He was my closest friend. I will always remember Bob for the brave and patriotic man he was. I was in country preparing to go home when I heard the helicopter he and others I served with went down, and Bob and others had lost their lives. I was leaving Vietnam on a thirty day early out to attend school. I remembered trying to talk Bob into applying for the school early out but he was determined to serve his entire tour. I have always very much regretted leaving early and it has bothered me my whole life. Bob was one of the best soldiers in our company. Not a day has gone by sine June 5 l970 that I have not remembered and prayed for him. I have one son who was seriously injured in the Iraq war with a traumatic brain injury, He has recovered quite well and I frequently talk with him about Bob. Bob spoke frequently of his family and he loved his family very much. I was a cubs fan and Bob a sox fan and we use to rib each other and planned on going to games when he got home. I served as a police officer for thirty years and I did the best I could. I hope Bob would have been proud of that because I thought of him so often in my career. So many people think those who lost their lives in Vietnam was for nothing. I was mad and of that mindset for awhile. But thinking back, right or wrong, we were young and many of us like Bob thought we were protecting those in our country, especially those who cannot defend themselves. I care for a little boy who is three and.has been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome. When I see him and so many others with disabilities I realize that Vietnam veterans deserve that same thanks given to all veterans who fought in wars believing our countrys freedom was worth it. I miss you Bob and will always admire you and the wonderful family whom raised you and whom you grew up with. I will remember you every day until Gods calling. You are a true hero. Thank you for your friendship.

Thinking of you today, June 5th 2014..It's been 44 years and I love and miss you so very much.
