It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die

My name is Jesse MacDonald, and as part of the Gridley High School posting project, I, a student of Gridley High School, in Gridley, Illinois, would like to take this time to thank you for your awesome courage and sacrifice. I do not know you nor anyone affiliated with you, but I owe my life to you. Words cannot express the pain I share with the entire nation due to your death. This country is not quite as wonderful without you, because you gave her your life to ensure that she would have to chance to survive. For this I thank you.

As a senior at Gridley high school in rural central Illinois, I am doing a posting project from my social science class. I would like to thank you and your family for what you gave for me and this great country. You paid the supreme sacrifice in the war and you should be honored. Not many people can comprehend on what you did. I would just like to commend you for your duty and sacrifice.
