Thank You

Dear Lcpl Calvin Golden,
Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

a golden voice from a Golden child of God

Calvin was loved by many at Amundsen High School..His voice was golden just as his personality was..I can still hear him sing sometimes in my mind..he was kind to all of us who knew him..we were all saddened when they announce his death in senior hall..I willnever forget that day..I still think of him often. Thank you for your service to our country and for coming into our lives..you will never be forgotten.

Honor

I grew up with Calvin who was older than me, but my older brother's dear friend. We lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same schools. We all looked up to Calvin who was the nicest guy in the world. He had a tough childhood and was a ward of the state at Lawrence Hall here in Chicago. A TERRIBLE LOSS of a dear friend who will always be missed.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Calvin Golden Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
