Dear CPL Dale Ernest Badgley, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

As our family was raised, in the Quaker religion, my little brother, could have avoided being part, of the fighting, force, in Viet Nam. I asked him, about it and his reply was this: 'My country has given me, a good life and taught me the value, of freedom. I will, not hide behind a church. My country, called me and I'm going, to serve it.' He had, a friendly, wonderful personality and a smile, that could light up, a room. He had friends, in all walks of life. Fellow soldiers visited the family, after Dale was killed. These visits, helped us to try, to cope with the pain, of our loss.
