It was a long time ago

So many years have come and gone and so much has changed. This is now a world you would not recognize. But we as a nation have changed in the way we think of our soldiers. At least most of us have. You were so terribly young as were most of the soldiers in Vietnam. Thank you for your service. Thank you for being you--the kind of person who loved his country and was willing to fight--and die-- for it. How I wish that war or any war never had to happen. Perhaps we have learned from the -past, although I can't be certain we have. God bless you and if you look down on us know that we have not forgotten you.

Thank you for your service as a General Vehicle Repairman. Tomorrow is your 51st anniversary, sad. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
