I Remember!
Ron you were a great young man. I remember the day you died as I was helping unload ammunition at our SF camp when all hell broke loose across the river. When CPT. Keener brought you back to camp the entire A team was devastated.
I was just at the Wall in DC and touched your name. I am still sad that you are gone.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Ronald Stuart Gilliam, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

A Thoughtful & Lovable Son
Ronny was a MOST thoughtful and lovable young man. During his last Christmas at home (l966) his mother and I paid a visit to one of our friends' home. It was Christmas Eve and Ronny had his heart set on going to midnight church service. The weather was rotten - snowing at the rate of maybe an inch an hour. When we got home, Ron was busy shoveling snow in his sharp uniform. He had the driveway completely bare of snow but was forced to just keep shoveling due to the heavy snowfall. He was actually a bit upset since we hadn't arrived to use the clean driveway, pick him up and proceed to church. This is just one sweet memory I cherish for a young man who gave his all & believed in his mission. MY SON.
