THE WALL OF FACES

My special friend. Jerry, you and I were the only first graders at Vincennes school. You called me "a big baboon". Through the years we were constant friends. I still dream that you are with us around a night fire. Now, Ted and Bill are there with you. You were and are loved and missed.

Even though I was only six years old when you were killed, I will never forget you. You were killed five days before my 6th birthday on June 20,1970 (my birthday is June 25). You were an artist and I can just imagine you making beautiful pictures up in Heaven. From your sister, Janet E. Giberson

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrances from your fellow soldiers are moving and attest to their admiration and respect for you. As long as you are remembered you will remain in our hearts forever…..

Sergeant Jerry Guy Giberson was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device V, for his exemplary gallantry in action. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Merit for his sustained meritorious service. He served as an Infantry Operations and Intelligence Specialist and was assigned to
the RECON PLT, E CO, 1ST BN, 52ND INFANTRY, 198TH INFANTRY BDE, AMERICAL DIV.
