REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR ANTHONY ROBER GIANNANGELI
POSTED ON 2.7.2005

If I should die...remembrances for COL. Anthony R.GIANNAGELI, USAF...who died so we may remain free!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hyearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

I wore his POW/MIA bracelet

I never knew this war hero, but was honored to wear his bracelet for many years. I still have it and if anyone in the family would like it, I would be more than honored to send it to you. I still find myself drawn to it and wonder about the man who wore it.

Does a family member want my bracelet?

I have had this POW/MIA bracelet since the early 70s. I have kept it in hopes of some day returning it to Lt. Col. Giannangeli. Since that doesn't look as if it will happen, I was thinking a family member might want it. Until that time, it will remain safely tucked away. I will make sure it always has a place of honor, like the man it represents. I will not forget the men and women who fought an unpopular war to help keep me free.

Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.

We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:
