Tony's Room mate

My thoughts often go back to April 2, 1972 in Vietnam. April 2, 1972 was Easter Sunday and I was flying my last combat mission before going home. Our target that morning was in Quang Tri province just south of the DMZ. Three SAMS were launch at us, they all missed. That after noon, flying on the same target, I lost my room mate Anthony Giannanglei, when two SAMS shot down his aircraft, call sign Bat 21. I wrote in my diary that evening " our hooch is very quiet this evening, I noticed the Easter cake Tony puy out for us before he left on his last mission. He always shared the goodies he got from home. Our hooch maid, who mothered all of us, is bewilered, it's so sad." I lke to think Tony would have enjoyed putting on his maroon party suit, walk over to the Officers Club and have a couple of drinks wirh me at my end of tour party, of course there was no end of tour party. Tony was such a great person and friend, one of the nicest man I ever met. The photo was taken of Tony and I receiving the Air Medal, fall of 1971 at the Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base.

BRACELET

I too wore his bracelet I wore it for 10 years in the hope he would be found or at least discover what happened to him. I had misplaced the bracelet and recently relocated it in a box of belonging. I always wondered what happened to him and thought I would check online and see. I Was blown away by all the references to him. We were only told when he went mia. What a wonderful and courageous person he was. I also wondered if any family members would want his bracelet. My name is Kathy Montgomery and I can be found on Facebook if anyone wants to contact me. Thank you.

Bracelet

I still have Mr. Giannangeli's MIA bracelet. We all sent away for them in support of all MIA's. It has the date he went missing 4-2-72. I guess according to the
on line info he would have been 84. If anyone from his family would like to have
this bracelet please contact me and I would be more than happy to send it.
I understand he was from Lansford, PA.

[email protected]
I guess I am not sure if anyone would be tracking this site after so many years but I thought I's give it a try.
HOPE to hear from a family member.

POW/MIA Bracelet

When I was in high school, I purchased a POW/MIA metal bracelet to show my support for those lost in the Vietnam War, in hopes that my thoughts and prayers would help bring Lt. Col. Anthony Giannangeli home.
