Impact you had on my life .

May you rest in peace, Mr. Gerstel. When we heard the news you were not coming home, my mom broke down in tears. You were a good friend of our family because we lived near you in Armona by the Lemoore Naval Air Station. My grandfather also worked on the base and we had the opportunity to see the Blue Angels at the Lemoore Naval Air Station. Being inspired by positive energy of the U.S. Navy made me want to join the U.S. Navy and I did right after I finished college in 1984. I was stationed in San Diego, California for my entire hitch. I still have the red Geisha China doll you brought home to me and my sisters. We will always have fond memories of your kindness. Thank you for giving your service to your country. You live in the hearts of many Americans.
