We Will Remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Childhood Friendship in Cleveland

I will always remember with love Wally who lived on my street (Elsienna Ave.) in Cleveland, OH. We shared a lot of fun times at his house with he and his brother John. We will meet again in God's kingdom and it will be a great reunion! No words can express how proud I am of his service and his sacrifice to our nation. God bless you, my friend forever!!

Lt. Geiger

I had less than 2 months in- country, LT Geiger and 1st sergeant, fought with our Captain to keep me in the rear as supply sergeant for the rest of my Tour, I fill in my heart that had they not fought for me I would have never made it home alive , I have thought of LT GEIGER and 1st sergeant many many times,,Thank you for being in my life, May you in Gods hands

He always gave 150% of himself!

Wally and I were on the Ohio State varsity swimming team. Unlike almost all the other swimmers, Wally was a "walk-on", meaning he was not recruited to the team out of high school by OSU. He just showed up uninvited at practice one day and a asked to try out! Guttzy. Well, he had an ungainly looking swim stroke, but Coach Bartels put him on the team anyway because he saw that Wally had more determination to succeed than any other swimmer the coach had seen in years. At every team practice and swim meet Wally went up and down the lenght of the pool wildly flailing his arms so fast that you would think he was a mallard duck building up enough speed to take off from the water! What a sight and joy to behold! Well, his wild style worked, and he kept working. So much so that over the years went from being the slowest freestyler on the team to a varsity letterman.
