THE WALL OF FACES

Bill and I were classmates in OCS Class 8-69 at Ft. Benning GA. Bill was in the 1st Platoon and I in the 4th but we became close friends. He invited myself and a few other classmates to his home in Atlanta in a free weekend during training and what a wonderful time we had meeting his parents and sister and enjoying their gracious hospitality. It's taken 49 years to post remembrances to the 6 brothers that I consider roommates. During the month of May 1970 I lost 2 other roommates as well. It was clear to us all the Bill was an outstanding candidate and a great leader. May God bless Bill's family.

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
