Same name

My father was a Vietnam Veteran and his name was Gerald L. Gardner. He survived the war, but imagine my surprise when I just happened to look up and see his name on the wall. I had to look GLG up because he never left my mind. What are the chances that I would visit the wall and stop to look up at just the right time in just the right spot? Gerald, thank you for your sacrifice. You're thought of often and it's nice to put a face to the name. A great name as you're a hero and my father was quite the man too. RIP

Thank You

Dear PFC Gerald Gardner,
Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Today's the Corps' birthday, Semper Fi. Happy Veterans' Day. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Semper Fi

I served with Gerald in 69. We were in the same squad Alpha Co. 2nd Plt. 3rd Squad until I got wounded on Dec 23rd 1969. There was about 5 or 6 of us that was usually together, miss you brother along with another brother from the squad, Ralph Phillip Hardin, who was killed around May 1970. One of these days we'll see each other.
