Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL Eduardo Ayala, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Best Of Friends
Ed, I left Vietnam, Sept,1966.I never got a chance to say good bye. We were out in the field and i was called back to the rear. I didn't know that i would be going home. Before i knew it, years went by.One of the guys sent me an old company roster& i came across your name . I couldn't remember where you lived.Have been searching for you.I accidently found your name on the Vietnam Wall web site and it just broke my heart.Ed you were my best friend. We used to hang out together on Hill 69. We used to dance to"Its all Right" by the Temptations.Ed, God bless you and you'll always be in our hearts. All the guys from the 5th Marines salute you. Your Good Buddy Richard.
