A great friend

Phil and I grew up together in Dearborn,Michigan. He was like a brother to me. He brought me into the world of music when he encouraged me to
start playing Bass Guitar.

We played in a band until he was drafted.

He was one of best people that I have ever known and if he would have still been with us today, he would have done many great things in his life.

I still miss him to this day.

a distant family member

I never knew Philip, but my husband was named for him. He must have been a wonderful young man and I am sad to see his name here amoung so many young boys names. His namesake Philip dean Gandolfo is a wonderful and good hearted man. That is a good legacy to pass on.

Fordson High

I knew Phil at Fordson High school in Dearborn,. Michigan. We were in Mr. Ray Parker's Civics class together. When Phil fell asleep in class old Mr. Parker would shoot rubber bands at Phil to wake him up. Phil sat right in front of old man Parker's desk. The class would be absolutely quiet watching the show. Phil was a GREAT guy . . . He is missed by all who knew him . . .

I came to know Phil through music. He played in a band, as did I, and since his group was a bit older than ours, we admired them. They were good! We would go to hear them perform whenever we could.
Phil played sax and also taught students through a local music store. He loved music. He was always very warm and friendly and a true role model.
I remember receiving the shocking news that Phil had been killed. As I recall, he wanted to take care of business in Vietnam so that his young nephews wouldn't have to. This is the kind of person that I remember Phil Gandolfo was.
