A Letter for him

Dear Jimmy,
I feel so sad for you that you gave your life for the country at that a young age. You contributed for the country and left your parents behind. I am not a US citizen but I truly underestand what you have done and how great you are. Thank you for your service.

Friends from childhood

Jimmy Awalt and his brother, sister and I grew up together in Plainview Texas. He was a sweet boy and a hard worker. He wanted to be a Marine so he enlisted and in 1967 he was killed by stepping on a mine. He gave his life for ours. I still remember us playing and having a ball as kids. He has been dead longer than he lived. His mom died about 5 years ago and at that time she had lost all her three kids. I was her only "kid" left. I will be buried beside Jimmy so that helps. Thank you for your service Jimmy you are missed and love by many people not only me.
