Remembering a True Friend and a Great Human Being

I attended Providence College with Pat and was 2 years behind him. We were both from "The" Bronx and shared many rides to and from college. I will never forget the day notice of Pat's untimely death was given at Providence. We were all in shock at this announcement. At that moment I, and another classmate also from NY, decided that we would attend Pat's funeral . I was so moved at that ceremony of his life and still can recall many details all these years later. Each time I visit the Wall in
DC, I make a special point to locate Pat and say a prayer for him. God speed my friend; Forever a Friar.

I miss him still.

I attended Providence College with Patrick. I was a freshman, and he was a senior in the fall of 1965. Although he was an upperclassman, he treated my freshman classmates and me with kindness and respect. I was impressed by his decency, leadership, and goodwill. That was 57 years ago. I think of him often and miss him still.

Visit to Grave of Patrick J Gallagher

I am fellow Power graduate, a veteran, i am also a member of the American Legion and I lived in Woodside, I visited Pat's grave on June 17, 2022 at Calvary cemetery. He is buried in a family plot with his grandparents and followed by his parents. I planted an American flag, said a prayer and bracing to attention, rendered a hand salute. Power Memorial Academy is proud of his service.
