High School

John, you were in my class in our sophomore year at Carroll. I remember a happy guy - always smiling and good natured. You are remembered often in my prayers. Semper Fi

John - just wanted you to know you are not forgotten -- especially on this Memorial Day - May 28, 2001 - the day you became a saint. My two sons know all about you. Thanks for helping me teach them what a real hero is made of. You must be shaking your head at the way a "hero" is so quickly designated in today's world! It's pretty sad. Believe me, every one of them pales in comparison to you and your sacrifice. Your patriotism, bravery, and love of family are remembered often. Semper Fi.

If it wasn't for you big brother....

I wouldn't have been able to learn the game of baseball, basketball, football and so much more. You had the patience of a saint. I will always remember our meetings. On June 23, 1975, I gave birth to a beautiful, baby girl. I named her Larissa which means happy one. She has your dispostion and for that I'm forever grateful. As Larissa grew older we spoke of you often and the role you played in our family. She was moved by the sacrifice you made. When she was confirmed at the age of 12, she choose your name as her confirmation name. In our eyes John you are a saint. I see you everyday in Larissa and that enables me to have a piece of you with me at all times. I look forward to seeing you in my dreams again soon but until then I am forever your little black sheep.

With much love,
Carla

Stuff

John was my brother. And after 30 years, I still miss him terribly. I am sorry that my children will never get to meet their uncle. I am sorry that I will never be able laugh with him again. I am sorry that we will never be able to go to a baseball game together again. But most of all, I am sorry that he will forever be 18 and I just keep getting older!!!

I love you John, and I can't wait to see you on the other side!!!

Your sister, Francesca.
