THE WALL OF FACES

Dear SSGT Dale Leroy Fugate, sir.

As the American flag in our front yard flaps in the breeze, as my wife finishes the wreaths she makes for every Memorial Day, we have most of what we need to observe this Memorial Day. Yet, what we need most would be to have you and those whose names are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall with yours to be here as well. May we never forget the cost of our freedoms, and the men and women who have and continue to step forward to keep America safe.

Dear Ssgt Dale Fugate,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Dale and I became friends while in the 11th Air Assault Division 1962. He at times was funny and he knew when to get serious. I was really sorry when word came down, while out on a mission in Viet-Nam. That he was killed. I will always remember you Dale
