I can't believe 54 years ago today you were taken from us I wish you back but I told myself I can't change the past all I can do is remember the past but it's just so hard because we all miss you. I wish I could hug you Carey I will give you a quote from George Patton “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.” I do thank God that these men lived and served." I love you and miss you Carey.

Carey and I went thru basic and AIT together and then flew to Vietnam on the same plane. He was a good guy. He would share his "care package" from home with me thru basic and AIT at Fort Polk. When I got word of his passing it broke my heart!! I found out today at The Wall That Heals in Spartanburg SC how to reach out to his family I hope. After 53 almost 54 I still think of Him.

Happy Birthday Carey you are still apart of our family and I am glad I got to say that to you.

Dear Great uncle today I would like to tell you Happy Birthday today and I just wish you were with us you would have been 74 years old today if you survived but I just wanted to tell you that because you are still apart of our family Carey.

I wish I could have seen you in real life what the sad part is if you have never had died my family would never be real I would have been gone and my mother and my grandma and grandpa they miss you too we all miss you and I want to thank you for your sevice and everyone's sevice in ever war Thank you.
