my friend

Dale, I just read the letter you sent my mother in August of 1969. I truly had no idea and am so sorry that I didn't know then how you felt. I know I was young but you truly were a very good friend to me and who knows what might have been. I cannot express my gratitude for the sacrifice that you made and only hope that I meet you again someday so I can tell you personally. I love you, Dale my friend; then and now.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Dale Richard Forsythe, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

CACTI FOREVER

C Company, 2/35th, 3rd Brigade, 4th Inf Division.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
