We Will Remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Peter Fonda, the essence of life.

Peter, your path was short but the swath was wide as we were drawn in to your special humor and warmth. I received that kindness as an insecure freshman 2 yrs your junior at Saratoga H.S., class of '65.
August '68, Ft. Benning, awaiting orders for Viet Nam I saw your name in the Stars and Stripes weekly, Peter Fonda, KIA. I reeled as I remembered the good summers years before caddying with you and your brother Joel. I also realized it was true, the good do die young. Fate took me to that part of V.N. were you left your buddies and on a break from the jungle we raised a cup to you and shared our Peter Fonda stories. God Bless you Peter and thank you sharing your path.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Peter Fonda,
Thank you for your service as an Armor Crewman with the 1st Cavalry. It is now fall, and as the seasons pass, it is important to remember you all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
