Bracelet

My 91-year-old mother is in hospice care and as I was cleaning out her jewelry today I found a POW bracelet for LCPL John J Foley III. And researching him, I found that he was a hero who died on his 20th birthday. God bless you and your family Lieutenant Corporal. I will hang onto your bracelet in memory of you!

Hero

June 11th March a sad day my buddy from my home town Jack Foley was killed on his 20th birthday he was part of a Recon team of seven that died on their third attempt to insert near the DMZ the other two attempts were aborted because of heavy enemy fire but an overzealous officer insisted the team be inserted, so many died needlessly on this is a prime example,Jack and I was stationed in Phu Bai by about eight miles from Hue we are where not in the same outfit as she was the baddest of the bad Force Recon rest in peace Marine proud to call you friend Semper Fi
