Thank You

Dear Msgt Douglas Flores,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Hello Grandpa

Grandpa,
I never got to meet you since you died when mom was still a little girl. I wish I could have gotten to meet you. I remember as a young girl going to the wall and watching my mother cry and not truly understanding why she was crying. I was lucky to have grandma let me learn more about you and to see a picture of you and the ohana. I wish you could have met all your grandchildren, especially your great-grandchildren. Thank you for serving. I want you to know I met a man that also served his country and I will soon be following in your footsteps to join the same service as you and my brother Douglas who was named after you. I hope to make you proud. And I hope to meet you one day in heaven. I truly hope that you can read this and that you may meet my daughter Raelynn Schronce who passed away June 4, 2012. Please watch over all of us and I love you.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear MSGT Douglas Flores, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
