My Father - our Hero

Dad, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I was just 6 yrs. old, Champ was 5 when we and Mom got word of your death. We were too young to understand this. Somehow, we survived as a family. After all these years, I am now able to tell you how deeply you have been missed and how great a sacrifice you and many others made on May 16th, 1965. There will never be enough words to express the loss of all the people impacted by the Bien Hoa explosion and other events in this war. May this country continue to stand strong. Love, Your Daughter Cynthia

My father served with SSgt Acosta

I did not know SSgt. Acosta. He was killed with my Dad, Capt. Ernest McFeron. I remember his picture in the paper. If you have any interest in contacting me: Michele McFeron Ybarra, [email protected]. I only know Ssgt Acosta through the news paper, but I think we share a common ground. May 16, 1965, Bien Hoa, San Antonio, TX. I am sorry for your loss.
