Silver Star Medal Award (Dominican Republic Crisis)
Staff Sergeant John Otis Finnicum served in World War II where he was held as a Prisoner of War by the Germans for 15 months. He further served in the Korean War, the Dominican Republic Crisis where he was awarded the Silver Star Medal for conspicuous gallantry in action. He served as an Infantryman and in Vietnam was assigned to B Co, 2nd Bn, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Div.
