That day 15 min past midnight

Sgt Filliator...You were my boss. That day Feb 22 at 0015 hrs I was walking guard.Mortars began to rain in on us.You were fast asleep.I came in yelling for you to go to the bunker. You woke and scrambled following me to the bunker.Someone yelled they were coming thru the wire. You stopped, turned around saying you left your weapon in your hooch. On your return with your weapon in hand,I had not yet reached the safety of the bunker and you caught up with me when a mortar landed almost direct on you.God protected me and I was not touched. The concussion threw me some distance. When I got my composure I made it back to you only to find that God had taken you.Why God the contrast of the moment?I was untouched.Dear Lord Richard was scheduled to go home in a matter of days to retire.Lord you have your reasons and I should not question your reasons.I LOVE YOU LORD and thank you for spareing me,but my life cheated Richard's.....John Brantley

Thank You

I am a high school senior at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois. My teacher was a Vietnam War Veteran and showed all of his classes this website and wanted to broaden our horizons and give to us an assignment to recognize these amazing men/women who so unselfishly gave up their lives and fought for their country in a time of need. I thank you form the bottom of my heart for your bravery. You are all greatly appreciated.

Thank You

As a fellow Buckeye, I say "THANK YOU"

As a Veteran, I say "JOB WELL DONE"

As an American, "YOUR DEATH WAS NOT IN VAIN"

And as a Believer, "YOUR SPIRIT IS ALIVE--AND STRONG"

Again, thank you for your valiant and courageous service, many years of faithfully contributing, and most holy of sacrifices, given to this great country! ETERNAL PEACE MY FRIEND
