Angel Day
You will never be forgotten by this American girl.
Your life was full of honor, devotion, and love for your country. The sacrifice of your precious life was not and will not be in vain.
You have and will be a source of all that is good for generations to come. This is evident in the messages that the youth of America leave on your remembrance sites.
You are not merely a name engraved on a granite wall -- you were and are a son, a brother, a husband, a grandson, a father, an uncle, a nephew, and a friend. You are real and as long as I live you will never be forgotten.
God bless you and your family on this your angel day.
Rest well now -- I will see on the other side.

NEVER FORGOTTEN
FOREVER REMEMBERED
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you....and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.....Be not ashamed to say you loved them....
Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own....And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind...."
Quote from a letter home by Maj. Michael Davis O'Donnell
KIA 24 March 1970. Distinguished Flying Cross: Shot down and Killed while attempting to rescue 8 fellow soldiers surrounded by attacking enemy forces.
We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you , one of the gentle heroes and patriots lost to the War in Vietnam:
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

Thank you
Hey my name is Jonathan and i'm doing an assignment for my middle school. We are going on a trip to Washington soon and were going to the wall to find our person mine happens to be Albert Figueroa. I searched for him because i have the same last name. I want to say thank you for serving in this war, many were lost, and it wasn't glorious. But i thank you for contributing to this country and fighting for my freedom today.
