Thank You
Dear Sp4 Charles Fields,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It is Labor Day, and we remember you all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Honoring Charlie Fields
Special thanks to the Winter Garden Heritage Museum for their help in finding Charlie’s photo in their Lakeview High School yearbook collection. Charlie was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Fields and was one of seven children. Charlie and 21 others were killed in an ambush on March 3,1969 during the opening days of Operation Wayne Grey in the Plei Trap Valley. Charlie was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for his actions that day.
