SSG Fielder was my finest squad leader in C/1/503 and one of the finest soldiers I ever came across. What more can I say? He was professional in all aspects yet caring. As his platoon leader I admired him and quietly observed how he did things to make myself a better combat leader. I salute him with tears in my eyes.

Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It is Labor Day weekend, and we remember you all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
